Alan Broome - Non Executive Director

Alan Broome is a highly accomplished professional Director and business advisor with over 40 years of experience in the metals, mining, and energy industries. A trained Metallurgist, Alan’s career spans both technical and leadership roles across steel production, metal casting, coal mining, and mining technology. He has made substantial contributions to the global mining sector, particularly in promoting Australian mining and developing international trade.

Alan's early career began in the Port Kembla Steelworks, before moving into leadership roles with the Australian Coal Industry Research Laboratories, where he served as Managing Director for over a decade. He has accumulated broad expertise through extensive involvement with mining technology companies, government agencies, and major international mining companies. Over the past 20 years, Alan has specialized in coal mining, mining technology, equipment, services, and research sectors worldwide.

In addition to his technical expertise, Alan has built a robust portfolio of board experience, having served as Chairman and Director for a wide range of listed and unlisted mining and mining technology companies. Notable roles include Chairman Emeritus of Micromine, a leading mining software company, and Chairman of several international companies including Mustang Energy Plc, Strategic Minerals Plc, and Critical Minerals Group Ltd. He is also involved with a number of ventures in the energy sector, including serving as Chairman of New Zealand’s Nuenz Limited and previously holding senior positions with Tait Communications, Ocean Guardian Holdings, and Solid Energy New Zealand Ltd.

Alan is known for his strategic thinking, business development acumen, and expertise in international trade, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. He is deeply involved in the mining and energy sectors' evolution, leveraging his vast experience to guide companies and organizations in navigating complex challenges.
